A press release from the Indian Embassy in Washington DC mentioned, “We now have come to the eye of a senior Indian journalist from the Press Belief of India for harassment, intimidation and bodily assault whereas protecting the so-called ‘Khalistan protests’ in Washington DC. Have seen the scenes. We perceive the journalist was first verbally threatened, then bodily assaulted, and fearing for her private security and well-being, needed to name legislation enforcement companies, who responded instantly.”

The Indian Embassy further said, “We condemn such a severe and unwarranted assault on a senior journalist. Such actions underline the violent and anti-social nature of the so-called ‘Khalistani protesters’ and their supporters, who commonly bask in violence and vandalism.”
