Manama: A Malayalee arrested in Saudi Arabia for smuggling liquor in a truck has been fined 52,65,180 Saudi riyals (Rs 11 crore) and deported. Shahul Muneeri (26), a local of Erattupetta, Kottayam, was sentenced by a Dammam legal courtroom.
He smuggled alcohol from Bahrain to Saudi three months in the past. He was arrested throughout a customs inspection on King Fahad Causeway. 4000 bottles of liquor have been seized from his trailer. He has been working as a driver for a non-public firm in Jeddah for 4 years. If the high-quality will not be paid, he should keep in jail. Cannot come again later.
