Barrackpore: With the announcement of the results of the assembly elections in the state, news of violence is coming from all around. On Monday, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh said seven BJP workers had been killed within 24 hours of the announcement of the results. The Union Home Ministry then called on the state government to report on the post-poll violence.

On the other hand, BJP all-India president JP Nadda is also coming to the state with the violence against BJP workers in Bengal. Meanwhile, BJP MP from Barrackpore Arjun Singh made an explosive remark. “If we, the people’s representatives, cannot stand by the people in these difficult times, then we should resign,” he said.

News of attacks on BJP workers has surfaced from various parts of the state. Arjun Singh also expressed anger over the death of an old woman in Shyamnagar under the Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency. The BJP MP said BJP workers and supporters were being killed across the state. Violence has spread since the results were released. We have 17 MPs and 6 MLAs. In this situation we cannot stand by the people.

Then BJP MP Arjun Singh said, “If we can’t provide security to the people even after having so many MPs like me, then we should all resign.” There is no democracy in the state. Terror has spread all around.

Incidentally, an old woman died in Shyamnagar due to Trinamool-BJP clash on Monday. Police have arrested two grassroots activists for being accused in the incident.
