Supreme Court upholds UP Madrasa Education Act; The Allahabad High Court quashed the order
New Delhi > Supreme Courtroom upheld the constitutionality of Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Act. The legislation was struck down by the Allahabad Excessive Courtroom in March 2024. This order was quashed by a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. The courtroom held {that a} enactment can’t be mentioned to be unconstitutional on the bottom that it has spiritual grounds.
The UP Madrasah Act of 2004 permits for spiritual research along with the NCERT curriculum. The Supreme Courtroom stayed the decision in April, observing that the Excessive Courtroom had misinterpreted the legislation. After this, the Supreme Courtroom has given a decisive verdict by canceling the Allahabad Excessive Courtroom order.
