Syed Mirza is the Chairman of the Kerala State Film Awards Jury

Thiruvananthapuram: The federal government has appointed a jury to resolve the Kerala State Movie Awards 2021. The jury is chaired by Hindi director and screenwriter Syed Akhtar Mirza.

He has been a robust supporter of Indian parallel cinema because the Nineteen Seventies and has gained the Nationwide Award for Finest Director and Finest Screenwriter. Each can be members of the ultimate judging panel.

Doordarshan’s former deputy director and documentary director Baiju Chandran, writers and screenwriters VR Sudheesh and Sushmesh Chanthroth, sound designer Jissy Michael, director and screenwriter Sangeetha Padmanabhan and cinematographer Venugopal Samithi are the first members.

Other than Syed Mirza, Sundardas and Ok Gopinathan, the finalists will embody Hindi director and screenwriter Suresh Triveni, playback singer Bombay Jayasree, cinematographer and director Fauzia Fathima and sound designer Harindranath Dwark Warrier.
Chalachithra Academy Secretary C. Ajoy would be the Member Secretary on the Preliminary and Closing Judging Committees.

The preliminary jury has eight members and the ultimate jury has seven members. Movie critic VK Joseph is the chairman of the composition jury. The opposite members are journalist and author Manila C. Mohan, movie critic and screenwriter Dr. Aju Ok. Narayanan and C. Ajoy (Member Secretary).

142 movies have been nominated for the award. Seven of those are kids’s work. Jury screening will start on April 28.
