Shiju Varghese, president of the EMCC, said he would file a complaint at the consulate against Union Minister V Muraleedharan’s statement that the company was unreliable. He said he and the EMCC representatives had met with the special permission of the Consulate when the Union Minister arrived in the United States at the end of 2019, just before Kovid’s expansion.
Shiju Varghese was speaking to channels after the Union Minister’s response that the meeting was not held.
V Muraleedharan says EMCC president is lying
Union Minister V Muraleedharan has not met EMCC President Shiju Varghese, who has signed a memorandum of understanding to build a trawler for deep sea fishing.
Shiju Varghese had earlier said that he had visited V Muraleedharan in New York with details of the plan to expedite the Foreign Ministry’s approval. On Tuesday, Shiju reiterated this in the media. But the minister denies this.
Muralidharan continued that EMCC is a fake institution. On October 3, 2019, the Ministry of External Affairs received a letter from State Transport Secretary KR Jyotilal seeking details and credibility of the company.
The Minister said that the Consular General of India had informed the state on October 21, 2019 that the company did not have an exact address.
