Targeting the reverence of GST devotees at the ‘inns’ of the Golden Temple, Mann said – Modi government should immediately withdraw this decision

Terming the Centre’s determination to levy Items and Companies Tax (GST) on inns round Sikh shrine Golden Temple in Amritsar as an irrational determination, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday demanded that or not it’s withdrawn.

In an announcement right here, the Chief Minister condemned the choice to levy GST on the inns of the Golden Temple. He mentioned that the inns together with Guru Gobind Singh NRI Niwas, Baba Deep Singh Niwas and Mata Bhag Kaur Niwas are related with the Golden Temple.

Mann mentioned these inns are meant for the keep of devotees visiting the holy shrine and have at all times been an integral a part of the Gurudwara advanced. The Chief Minister mentioned that since many years these inns have been offering snug lodging to the devotees who come to Sri Darbar Sahib with none revenue.
