Kolkata> Trinamool-BJP clash opens new front Flood of election grievances in Bengal. Both the parties have filed several petitions in the Kolkata High Court seeking annulment of the results.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who lost to BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari in Nandigram, first came forward with a complaint. Mamata Banerjee’s complaint will be heard on the 24th .He and several other Trinamool candidates have approached the High Court.
BJP state president Dilip Ghosh has said that more complaints will be lodged seeking cancellation of results in constituencies where light votes have been lost. Meanwhile, posters appeared across the state demanding the return of Kailash Vijaya Varghese, the BJP national general secretary in charge of Bengal.
In Birbhum district, more than 300 BJP workers who left Trinamool before the elections were sprayed with Ganga water. Actress and prominent BJP leader Rupa Ganguly has announced her resignation from politics.
