NEW DELHI: The Customs officers on Tuesday mentioned that they’ve arrested two air passengers at Indira Gandhi Worldwide Airport for allegedly smuggling gold paste price Rs 1.95 crore by concealing it of their undergarments.
A senior customs official mentioned that each the passengers got here from Dubai and have been intercepted on the idea of intelligence.
“4.5 kg gold paste was recovered from their undergarments, leading to the recovery of 3.85 kg of pure gold valued at 1.95 crore,” mentioned the official.
The recovered gold has been seized beneath part 110 of the Customs Act. The mentioned passengers have been positioned beneath arrest beneath part 104 of the Act.
