Ukraine welcomes fresh military aid from the EU

Kiev: Ukrainian International Minister Dmytro Kuleba welcomed the European Union's (EU) choice to allocate an extra 5 billion euros (about $5.44 billion) for army assist to Ukraine, the Ukrainian International Ministry stated.

Talking at a gathering of the EU International Affairs Council on Monday, Kuleba stated the transfer to unlock assist was an vital step for Ukraine, Xinhua information company reported.

Kuleba additionally thanked the Czech Republic for its initiative to buy artillery ammunition for Ukraine and praised the international locations which have joined the initiative.

Earlier on Monday, the Council of the European Union had allotted 5 billion euros (about 5.44 billion {dollars}) for Ukraine below the European Peace Facility (EPF). The funds are for use to supply Ukraine with deadly and non-lethal army tools and coaching.

Between 2022 and 2024, the EU has mobilized 6.1 billion euros (about $6.64 billion) for Ukraine below the EPF.
