Uttar Pradesh: Muslim mystics assaulted in Gonda, police spoke of action after video went viral

A video from a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district goes viral on social media, through which some locals are seen abusing and harassing three Muslim fakirs (non secular monks) who beg. Police mentioned that one accused has been arrested on this case.

Cellphone movies shot in Degur village of Gonda area confirmed three begging males being chased by boys, abusing them associated to faith and making objectionable remarks. One other youth will be heard saying, “They wear the clothes of sadhus but they will eat biryani with this money.”

Within the video, a younger man armed with a giant stick surrounds them and calls for their id playing cards. On listening to that they don’t have any id card, he begins abusing them by calling them ‘jihadi’ and ‘terrorist’. In the meantime a person who tries to intervene is pushed by him.

The Gonda Police spokesperson, who swung into motion after the video of the incident went viral on social media, mentioned that the police officers have been apprised of the incident and motion is being taken to determine the accused seen within the video. Later, in keeping with the data acquired from the police, one of many accused concerned within the incident has been arrested by the police.
