Vaccination of 300 million people in America in 150 days

NEW YORK: US President Joe Biden took a cautious victory lap on Friday in his quest to get the coronavirus pandemic under control, declaring that 300 million vaccine shots have been administered in the United States in the 150 days since he took office. Huh.

Biden commended the scientists, the companies, the American people, and their entire government effort at the historic site. The president noted that 65 percent of adults have received at least one shot, setting the stage for a relatively normal summer for most Americans as businesses reopen and employers hire.

"We’re heading into a very different summer than last year," Biden said. "a bright summer. Prayerfully, the warmth of joy." The White House announced plans to host more than 1,000 guests – mainly frontline workers and their families – on the South Lawn for a cookout on July 4. It is one of the biggest personal events of Biden’s presidency to date.

Biden aims to have 70 percent of Americans at least partially vaccinated against COVID-19 by July 4. The pace of vaccination is now falling sharply from a high in April, with the current number at 65 percent. Among adults alone, 55 percent are fully vaccinated. Of the 50 U.S. states, 26 states and Washington DC have fully vaccinated 50 percent or more of adults, according to White House data.
