Vijay Mallya gets non-bailable warrant in Rs 180 crore loan default case


A particular courtroom in Mumbai has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) towards fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya within the Rs 180 crore mortgage default case involving the Indian Abroad Financial institution (IOB).

On June 29, particular CBI courtroom choose S.P. Naik Nimbalkar had issued a non-bailable warrant towards Mr Mallya and the detailed order was made out there on July 1.

The courtroom mentioned, "The current case is related to several loans of about Rs 180 crore given by Indian Overseas Bank to Vijay Mallya and his company between 2007-2012. There are a total of 10 accused in this case including Vijay Mallya and an FIR was registered in this case in August 2016."

The courtroom mentioned, "Summons have been issued to all the accused to appear, but the special CBI court has also issued a non-bailable warrant for Vijay Mallya."

He’s at the moment in London, Mallya is dealing with extradition requests from the Indian authorities. The non-bailable warrant issued pertains to a fraud case registered by the CBI wherein Mallya is accused of diverting loans obtained from the IOB to Kingfisher Airways between 2007 and 2012.
