New Delhi: India on Thursday welcomed the affirmation of the nomination of Eric Garcetti because the US Ambassador to New Delhi, saying it seemed ahead to working with him to take our multi-faceted bilateral relationship ahead.

On this regard, Overseas Ministry spokesman Aridam Bagchi informed reporters, “We welcome the affirmation of the nomination of Eric Garcetti because the US Ambassador to India. We stay up for working with them to take our multifaceted bilateral relationship ahead. The Senate confirmed Eric Garcetti’s nomination by a vote of 52 to 42. Three Democratic members didn’t assist Garcetti. Nonetheless, seven members of the Republican Party supported him, making it doable for his nomination to be confirmed.
The Senate Overseas Relations Committee final week accepted Garcetti’s nomination by a vote of 13 to eight. Garcetti (52) is the previous mayor of Los Angeles. US President Joe Biden first nominated him for the submit of US Ambassador to India in July 2021.
Nonetheless, within the first two years of Biden’s time period as president, Garcetti’s nomination couldn’t be accepted as a result of some lawmakers opposed his appointment.
