Workers with farmers; Farmers’ organizations to intensify agitation

Farmers’ organizations and trade unions across the country celebrated Farmers’ and Workers’ Unity Day on Saturday. Joint demonstrations were organized in all the states. Andaman and Nicobar Islands also celebrated Unity Day. Hundreds of people, including women, took part in rallies and demonstrations.
With the onset of winter and rising temperatures in northern India, tents were set up at the Delhi border protest centers to fight the sun. Coolers, bore wells for water, water filters and more toilets were prepared. Four thousand air coolers were installed in Tikri alone.

The BJP has no votes
In the wake of the Assembly elections, the farmers’ organizations have joined hands with the workers of the country to intensify the agitation. The joint Kisan Morcha will declare the third phase of the strike against the Modi government on Tuesday. Central trade union representatives and joint Kisan Morcha leaders will meet on Monday.

Kisan Sabha leaders Hanan Molla, Ashok Dhawale, Viju Krishnan and P Krishnaprasad visited the Singh Samara Kendra and met other farmers’ organization leaders. In every state where elections are being held, including Bengal, the campaign will be intensified so that farmers do not vote for the BJP. For this, senior leaders of the Joint Kisan Morcha will tour the state.

The senior farmers ‘leader told Deshabhimani that he would ensure that the farmers’ vote does not go to the BJP. Long marches organized in Maharashtra and elsewhere will be held in other states as well. Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has started moving to resume talks with farmers.

To the center of the struggle: Navdeep Kaur
Navdeep Kaur, a Dalit trade union activist, was released on bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Saturday. Navdeep Kaur told the media that he was with the farmers and would soon go to the strike center in Xinhua.
