Year Ender 2023: Government’s focus on coal gasification, challenge will be to increase production in 2024
India’s coal sector ranks second on the planet. Within the yr 2022-23, coal manufacturing elevated by 14.8 % to 893 million tonnes. India’s share in whole international manufacturing is 10 %. India ranks second in coal manufacturing. China is in first place. To realize self-sufficiency within the coal sector, the federal government has set a goal of manufacturing of 1 billion tonnes in 2023-24. The goal is to extend coal manufacturing to 1.5 billion tonnes by 2029-30.
