Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that people between the ages of 18-45 should be prepared to donate blood before receiving the vaccine. The Leader of the Opposition had pointed out at the all-party meeting that there may be a shortage of blood in the blood banks. The problem is that people are generally not ready to donate blood in the event of a Kovid outbreak.
Therefore, the government is urging young people to be prepared to donate blood before receiving the vaccine. Blood donation is recommended before vaccination, considering the expert opinion that blood should not be given for one month after receiving the vaccine. The Chief Minister said in a press conference that the youth and voluntary organizations should also be prepared to take special action for blood donation at this stage.
Kovid informed the DYFI government that he was ready to formulate extensive volunteer work in the context of the second wave. DYFI intends to launch a plasma donation campaign, a special blood donation camp and the formation of the Kovid Defense Force.
The people themselves must take the lead in social awareness. We are a socially conscious people. As we have proven before. “Every citizen should be able to take initiative on his own recognizing the seriousness of the situation,” he said.
