UGC launches 'SherNI' to ensure representation of women scientists

New Delhi: The Heart for Data and Library Community (INFLIBNET) of the University Grants Fee (UGC) on Saturday launched 'She Research Community in India' (SHERNI) to make sure equal illustration of ladies scientists.

The UGC mentioned the SheRNI platform will join over 81,000 profiles of Indian ladies in science and analysis throughout varied domains.

UGC Chairman Professor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar informed IANS that the UGC desires to make sure equal illustration and visibility for the contributions of ladies scientists and school members.

“Recognizing them through their research results and scalable solutions is one of the main pillars of a developed India,” he mentioned.

She mentioned SheRNI combats stereotypes and can encourage the following era of ladies scientists, researchers and school members.

“The objective of SHERNI is to create a national level expert platform for women faculty members and facilitate exchange of expertise, insights and experiences in various fields,” she mentioned.

The UGC Chairman mentioned that there are 81,818 ladies school members registered within the SheRNI database and there are 6,75,313 publications and 11,543 patents.
