In an interview to the information company, Arun Govil stated that “Lord Ram is the pride of our country, identity of culture and self-respect. Courage, seriousness, thoughtfulness, respect given to elders… everything is there in the character of Lord Ram.”

The actor stated that he was not the primary option to play the position of Lord Ram within the well-known serial. He stated, “I had told Ramanand Sagar ji in the beginning that I only wanted to play the character of Lord Ram… I was rejected and the role was offered to someone else. But later I was called back for this role.” ,
